Discuss forestry with Volvo Penta at Elmia Wood

Between 7th and 10th of June, forestry professionals from all over the world will meet at the world’s largest forestry fair, Elmia Wood, in Jönköping, Sweden. Volvo Penta has a strong focus on forestry. For the first time in Sweden, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Trucks will together showcase our vehicles and engines specifically designed for the forest industry. Come meet us in stand 1065 – we look forward to exchanging knowledge and experiences and discuss trends within the forest industry with you!

Elmia Wood – the world’s largest forestry fair

Every four years, Elmia Wood brings together the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers from the forest industry. More than 550 exhibitors from some 30 countries will present their forestry solutions in a packed programme that includes shows, competitions, award ceremonies, social events, seminars and much more. The entire fair is held in the forest south of Jönköping, Sweden, where you can see and test forest machines and tools in their natural environment. This year, the demonstration areas will be larger and contain everything from trials of new machines to full-scale final felling.

This year is also the premier of the new Load & Transport section, which will lead to a significantly larger fairground area in the forest. It will include new segments in logistics and timber handling. In addition, there will be another two new sections, Hunting and the Drone Zone, which also will contribute to new innovations during this year’s fair.

The fair will attract large crowds and is an efficient and enjoyable way for both the exhibitors and visitors to acquire valuable knowledge, get an overview of the market, expand your network and discover new trends within forestry.

Volvo Penta joins forces with Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Trucks

At this year’s fair, Volvo Penta will join forces with Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) and Volvo Trucks. The Volvo stand will be the largest stand in the new Load & Transport section. Together, the three Volvo companies represent the only brand that can deliver vehicles and engines that cover the whole production range in forestry, following the timber from the forest to delivered product.

It is the first time we’re doing such a campaign in Sweden,” says Lisa Arwenhielm, Marketing Coordinator Nordic, who is in charge of the Group’s participation at the fair.

Vehicles and engines designed for the international forest industry

Volvo Trucks has a clear place in forestry with its timber trucks. Volvo Construction Equipment plays an important role in the industry, offering excavators and loaders that are invaluable for doing earthmoving work, building forest roads and working at timber yards. As a world-leading supplier of engines for industrial use, Volvo Penta cooperates with a number of different manufacturers of forest machines. For example, Volvo Penta has delivered engines to Eco Log’s harvesters that are included in their E-series. At Elmia Wood, Eco Log will present their new forwarders in the same series, also powered by Volvo Penta. In addition, in 2016, Volvo Penta closed a deal with Rottne, which has switched to Volvo Penta engines in their eight-wheeled forwarder Rottne F15. Volvo Penta’s engines enable both Eco Log and Rottne to offer longer service intervals with effective engines in the environmental categories demanded by the international forest industry.

Wood chip trucks, timber trucks, high-lift wheel loaders and excavators

Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Trucks will together showcase a number of vehicles and engines at Elmia Wood. For example, a timber truck with an interior inspired by Volvo Ocean Race, Volvo Penta’s D16-engine that is designed for very heavy operations such as wood chipping, and much more. At Elmia Wood, we are proud to also show you our Stage V concept, including the reveal of a new engine, which is optimized for the future.  Volvo Penta will be located in stand 1065 and are eager to exchange knowledge and experiences from the forest industry with you. We hope to see you there!

We want to discuss forestry with you and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at the world’s largest forestry fair! Please let me know if you have any questions about our participation at Elmia Wood. Until then, visit us on social media or on our website. See you at Elmia Wood!
